Ashley Flippin, NP is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in adult psychiatry. Ms. Flippin obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and her Masters degree from Vanderbilt University’s Nurse Practitioner Program with a Masters of Nursing Science. While in the nurse practitioner program at Vanderbilt, Ms. Flippin completed most of her clinical hours under the GRECC (Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center) scholar program at the Nashville VA Hospital. Ms. Flippin, NP joined the Mental Health Care Line at the Nashville VA upon graduation and continues to practice emergency psychiatry there.
Ms. Flippin, NP has worked in adult psychiatry for almost 20 years specializing in emergency psychiatry as well as treatment of mood disorders, anxiety, bipolar and PTSD. Ms. Flippin has experience with both inpatient and outpatient treatment of mental health disorders. Ms. Flippin, NP strives for a genuine partnership with her patients encouraging them to take an active role in their care. While utilizing evidence-based treatment, Ms. Flippin meets people in their journey to treat, prescribe, and educate patients on their path to wellness.
Ms. Flippin grew up in Brentwood and continues to reside there with her husband and three boys. She spends many hours at various ball games cheering on her children. Ms. Flippin enjoys spending time with her family, running, reading, travel and cooking.
